Job summary

Palomar in La Jolla, CA offers a 9-week Summer Internship Program that gives college students and early career professionals hands-on experience across multiple technical departments within a growing insurance company. Interns will rotate through departments such as Data & Analytics, Product Management, Software Engineering, Automation & Process Improvement, and Technology Operations & Infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (junior or senior year), a graduate student, pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university (preferred majors in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Economics, or Finance)
• Minimum of 8 weeks availability to join the program with the opportunity to expand to 10 weeks.
• Hybrid Work Environment - Ability to work in the office and from your home.
• Preference of having passed at least 1 actuarial exam.
• Offers will be finalized by February 2027.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development, testing, or maintenance of reports, dashboards, data models, or product features.
• Assisting with automation, tooling, or process‑improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
• Collaborating with engineering, product, and analytics teams on system or product enhancements.
• Performing data validation, quality assurance, and analysis to support business decisions.
• Documenting technical processes, standards, and definitions for team reference.
• Presenting findings, recommendations, or product updates to stakeholders.
