Job summary

Palomar Holdings, Inc. invites actuarial college students to a summer internship from June to August. Interns gain hands-on experience in loss reserves assessment, profitability projection, risk quantification, actuarial research, and tool/report creation.

The program emphasizes collaboration with teammates and exposure to how the actuarial team supports the business. The role is in a hybrid environment with in-office days and remote work.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (junior or senior year) or graduate student.
• Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or Finance.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience on multiple actuarial projects such as loss reserves adequacy assessment.
• Project profitability projections for Palomar's products.
• Quantify risk exposure and propose risk reduction strategies.
• Perform actuarial/market research and statistical analyses.
• Create tools and reports to support decisions.
