Job summary

NRDC’s Climate & Energy Department seeks an undergraduate intern to support ongoing projects in the Industrial Division. The role reports to the Director, Heavy Industry and is based in Washington, DC with onsite work three days per week.

The intern will analyze policies related to industrial decarbonization, develop communication materials, and produce a written policy analysis and leadership presentation. A focus on embodied carbon and educational gaps will guide deliverables for the team.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program.
• Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and May 2027 graduates eligible.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Project management and/or problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Initiative, proactiveness, and creativity.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing projects in the Climate & Energy Department's Industrial Division.
• Develop communication materials and graphs, including PowerPoint.
• Analyze policies and identify gaps in industrial decarbonization and embodied carbon policies.
• Prepare written policy analysis and a leadership presentation; identify educational gaps on embodied carbon.
