Job summary

NRDC's Climate & Energy Department seeks a graduate intern to support projects in the Industrial Division, reporting to the Senior Carbon Management Specialist. Base offices can be Chicago or San Francisco; onsite 3 days/week.

The intern will help track CDR developments and craft policy briefs and outreach materials. Responsibilities include collaboration with policy analysts, lawyers, and scientists to advance equitable CDR policy and implementation.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, within a team.
• Project management and/or problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Commitment to NRDC’s mission, values, and DEI principles.
• Experience with Asana and/or a CRM tool is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing Climate & Energy projects within the Industrial Division.
• Develop policy briefs, educational materials, presentations, and other resources.
• Track policy, regulatory, and market developments related to carbon dioxide removal (CDR).
• Assist with outreach, stakeholder mapping, and advocacy at state levels.
