Job summary

GFT is seeking a Substation Engineer to lead or support utility and power substation projects across Kansas City, MO; Raleigh, NC; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; and Tampa, FL. The role focuses on developing layouts and power system drawings for new and existing substations.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a PE license or path to licensure, and 3+ years in design, engineering and project management in the power/utility sector.

• Professional Engineer License or on the path to licensure.
• 3+ years of experience in design, engineering and management in power/utility.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support substation projects across multiple locations.
• Develop substation layout drawings including plan/elevations, yard layouts, grounding, raceways, control building layouts, cable lists, and material lists.
• Create one-line/double-line diagrams, DC/AC power systems, SCADA and communications systems, relay panel layouts, equipment wiring, and cable schedules.
• Prepare calculations and reports presenting the calculations to clients.
• Prepare equipment specifications for substation equipment, components, and construction.
• Collaborate to pursue regional and national power delivery projects with the objective of increasing Gannett Fleming presence.
• Develop and nurture client relationships and work across multiple offices.
• Prepare proposals, bids, reports and presentations.
