Job summary

CTSF is seeking a Substance Abuse Professional in Charlotte, NC to join the CST team, providing assessments, education, and counseling to support recovery and relapse prevention within credential scopes.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, person-centered services, collaboration with healthcare partners, and precise documentation. A flexible schedule and hybrid work setup support client care and staff wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education and substance abuse credential/licensure required for assigned services.
• Experience working with individuals with substance use or behavioral health needs preferred.
• Knowledge of recovery and substance use treatment resources.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to provide services in community-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide substance use assessments and support within the scope of credentials.
• Provide substance use education and counseling as authorized.
• Assist clients with recovery and relapse prevention.
• Develop and support person-centered goals.
• Participate in CST team meetings and case reviews.
• Coordinate services with other healthcare and community providers.
• Provide referrals to substance use and community resources.
• Assist with crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Identify and report safety concerns.
• Support clients with connecting to treatment and recovery resources.
• Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality.
• Provide trauma-informed and person-centered services.
• Document all services accurately and timely.
• Verify authorizations before providing billable services.
• Use the correct service codes and billing procedures.
• Participate in documentation and quality assurance reviews.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and continuing education.
• Follow CTSF policies and applicable state and federal requirements.
