Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Accounting Technician – Journey in Chapel Hill, NC. The role supports the University Cashier Office with tuition waiver processing, credit card reconciliation, scholarship coordination, financial analysis and reporting, and customer service to students and campus departments.

This permanent, full-time position offers standard benefits and requires 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with hybrid work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of accounting experience, or equivalent training.
• Experience using PeopleSoft or a comparable enterprise financial or student information system.
• Experience with accounts payable processing, including reviewing documentation, entering or validating transactions, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
• Experience in process accounting and in bookkeeping or accounting clerical work within an accounting office.

Responsibilities

• Process tuition waivers and reporting for the university.
• Coordinate university-wide credit card reconciliation.
• Coordinate outside scholarships and related reporting.
• Perform financial analysis and prepare related reports.
• Provide customer service to students and campus departments.
