Job summary

Actalent is seeking a motivated Structural Design Engineer with at least four years of experience to join a collaborative team. You will design and analyze structures across commercial, educational, mixed-use, and transportation projects, using Revit and AutoCAD, and ensure code compliance.

The role emphasizes mentorship, learning, and cross-disciplinary coordination. You will work with engineers across states, contribute to project delivery from concept to construction, and grow professionally

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Actively working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or recently licensed as a PE.
• Experience designing structures utilizing steel, concrete, timber/wood, and masonry.
• Proficiency in structural design and analysis and preparation of calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for a broad range of projects.
• Develop structural calculations, models, and design documents for steel, concrete, timber/wood, and masonry structures.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate structural drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Apply structural engineering principles to evaluate loads and perform stress analysis.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other disciplines throughout all project phases.
• Participate in construction administration activities including RFIs and submittals.
• Ensure designs comply with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, NDS, and client requirements.
• Contribute to design of retaining walls and multifamily projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage in learning lunches and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Communicate clearly in reports and discussions with teams and clients.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and staff; promote continuous improvement.
