Corner Alliance in Boulder, CO is seeking a Strategic Communications Consultant II with 5+ years in government outreach/strategic comms to support a federal R&D program. The role starts part-time with potential to grow to full-time.

You will write/edit high-volume content, translate complex tech into plain language, develop strategic plans, track metrics, mentor junior staff, and coordinate deliverables while interfacing with clients and Corner Alliance leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in government outreach/strategic communications.
• Experience developing outreach plans and managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to translate technical content into plain language.
• Proficiency in developing and presenting engagement metrics.
• Experience advising clients and senior officials.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit high-volume content across formats (articles, social, internal communications).
• Translate complex technical topics into plain language for diverse audiences.
• Develop and implement strategic communication plans aligned to client objectives.
• Track metrics such as engagement, website traffic, and media coverage.
• Coordinate marketing materials and speaking engagements.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and mentor others.
• Lead deliverable trackers and review cycles for timely delivery.
• Facilitate client meetings and support business development.
