Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, or coursework to qualify for CPA
• Minimum 1 year accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
• Government and non-profit audit experience preferred
• Proficiency with firm technology: Caseware, RIA Checkpoint, CCH, Practice Engine
• Ability to work independently
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Teamwork and client service
• Integrity in professional environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Willingness to travel and adjust hours as needed
• Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients and firm staff with strong work ethic
• Stay informed of developments in government and non-profit industries
• Communicate audit status and issues to team leader
• Identify risks and raise them to supervisors
• Contribute ideas and listen to team members' views
• Work independently without daily supervision
• Accept assignments across audit areas and complete them timely
• Examine past procedures and enhance audit techniques
• Understand and prepare basic financial statements
• Overtime as needed to complete engagements
• Aim to pass the CPA exam
