Job summary

NRECA is a national trade association supporting over 900 electric cooperatives. The Finance department handles accounting, financial planning, budgeting, and procurement.

This role prepares monthly journal entries, analyzes financial results, ensures accurate revenue recognition, and maintains Workday-based systems. The position offers a hybrid schedule with flexibility to work from home up to two days per week.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA and prior experience in public accounting firm.
• Experience using automated general ledger systems (Workday preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Supports monthly financial reporting with management reports.
• Reviews general ledger accounts for proper classification and recording per GAAP.
• Collaborates with FP&A to analyze monthly results and variance.
• Maintains knowledge of GAAP and Workday functionality.
