Job summary

Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc. seeks a Staff Accountant to join the general accounting team. The role supports accruals, capitalized assets, cost center allocations, and related reporting in a hybrid work setting.

Primary duties include month-end close, reconciliations, and collaboration with FP&A and division presidents on DAC/NDAC calculations and spend analyses. Strong US GAAP knowledge and Excel proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
• Insurance industry experience is a plus.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for the general accounting team
• Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
• Assist in ensuring an effective control environment
• Collaborate with FP&A on BvA analysis for cost centers and spend categories
• Prepare DAC calculations and update assumptions with division presidents
• Prepare NDAC calculations and update assumptions with division presidents
• Record monthly and quarterly expense accruals with cost center owners and division presidents
• Assist with preparation of reports for state and regulatory filings and audits
