Job summary

Chef Works, Inc. seeks a Staff Accountant to support the Accounting and Finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end close.

The role collaborates with AR, AP, and other departments to ensure timely, accurate recording of cash activity and transactions. The position favors a proactive, adaptable candidate in a dynamic environment, with opportunities to automate and improve everyday accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred.
• Experience with Avalara or similar sales tax software is a plus.
• Strong problem solving, organizational, analytical, and communication skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet and cash-related reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Coordinate with AR and AP to ensure timely and complete monthly cash activity.
• Prepare and maintain accounting for leases, intercompany chargebacks, and related reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts receivable activity related to bad debt and prepare related journal entries.
