Job summary

Sight Machine is seeking a senior cloud infrastructure engineer to lead reliability, automation, and scale for our platform, with a focus on agentic AI workloads and LLM orchestration. You will mentor engineers, drive reliability practices, and partner across teams in a hybrid SF-based role.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in Kubernetes/Docker on major clouds, strong coding skills (Python/Go/Java), and deep IaC/CI/CD experience. A startup mindset with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with Kubernetes/Docker in a major cloud provider.
• 10+ years coding experience (Python, Go, Java, or similar).
• 10+ years with IaC and CI/CD tooling.
• Strong Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Experience integrating or operating LLM/agentic AI systems in production.
• Proven mentorship of other engineers.
• Strong bias for action, risk-aware decision making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Champion an agentic-AI-first engineering mindset and ensure quality, testing and reliability.
• Evolve reliability practices, meet SLOs, drive postmortems to systemic fixes.
• Troubleshoot cross-layer systems including CI/CD, containers, networking, OS and cloud.
• Design and operate infrastructure for agentic AI workloads and LLM gateways.
• Architect monitoring, alerting and observability for critical services.
• Develop and improve runbooks and automation with AI-assisted tooling.
• Build internal platforms and developer tooling.
• Participate in on-call coverage and scale by reducing outages.
• Mentor senior/mid-level engineers and drive cross-team initiatives.
