Job summary

Cedar Grove Middle School in DeKalb County is seeking an Interrelated Teacher who delivers instruction aligned with state and district standards to diverse learners, including those with special needs. The ideal candidate will promote high academic expectations, maintain effective communication, and foster a safe, engaging learning environment both in-person and virtually.

Plan and deliver instruction for a variety of learners, assess progress, and collaborate with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a Georgia PSC approved college in the relevant field.
• Valid PSC teaching certificate in the appropriate field.
• Special Education endorsements required and related to servicing students with disabilities.
• ESOL & Gifted endorsements required.
• CTAE: complete education requirements, pass GACE Education Ethics, and have endorsed specialization.

Responsibilities

• Teaches grade-appropriate and mandated curriculum.
• Plans and delivers lessons through in-person and virtual learning with proper documentation.
• Communicates with students, families, and district personnel via phone, email, or video.
• Creates a learning environment conducive to student development and engagement.
• Uses technology to provide instruction and collaboration with students.
• Assesses and reports progress, attendance, and performance to stakeholders.
• Supervises student behavior per the Code of Conduct and handbook.
• Participates in conferences with parents, students, counselors, and administrators.
• Performs general instructional duties and attends required trainings.
• Directs Paraprofessional or Instructional Aide as needed.
• Maintains regular attendance.
