Heelstone Renewable Energy in Durham, NC, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead external engineering partners and set standards for 50–200+ MW projects across solar, storage, and hybrids. You will drive pre-construction and construction phases with a focus on optimization and compliance.

Reporting to the SVP of EPC Management, this full-time role blends technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration to support project delivery and value engineering efforts.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with relevant renewables exposure and PE preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in design engineering, value engineering, or cost estimation.
• Knowledge of civil and mechanical practices for solar and storage projects.

Responsabilités

• Identify and contract external engineering firms for civil, electrical, structural, substation, BESS, and SCADA design.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to optimize site layouts and EPC engagement.
• Lead early engineering efforts to advance site design to contractor engagement.
• Review EPC design packages and interconnection agreements for compliance.
• Ensure NERC compliance in drawings and specifications.
• Manage outside engineers through construction lifecycle and support project teams.
