Job summary

Veranex, Inc. in Providence, RI seeks a Senior Software Quality Engineer to translate requirements into robust test strategies and deliver high‑quality software through planning, development and hands‑on execution.

You will lead test planning, collaborate with engineers and product teams, conduct functional/integration/testing, analyze results, and support release readiness while exploring automation opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng or related field.
3–6 years of experience in software quality engineering or testing.
Proven experience developing test strategies, plans and cases.
Strong experience with functional, integration, system and regression testing.
Experience validating requirements and ensuring traceability to tests.
Agile software development experience.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of test strategies and test plans for product coverage.
Partner with engineers, product managers and stakeholders to define quality objectives.
Identify testing priorities and risk-based approaches.
Design, develop and execute comprehensive test cases and procedures.
Perform functional, integration, system and regression testing for new features.
Analyze test results, document findings and communicate quality status.
Investigate defects, support root‑cause analysis and verify corrective actions.
Ensure requirements traceability to verification activities and test results.
Support release readiness activities and change assessments.
Improve test methodologies, processes and tooling for quality and efficiency.
Contribute to automation initiatives while prioritizing effective test planning.
