Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Project Team Lead to guide a 25–30 person software team responsible for combat vehicle software integration, in-house development, subcontracts, and government‑furnished software and equipment.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, EVMS/CAM/WPM familiarity, and delivering high‑quality software across the vehicle program, with a 9/80 schedule and hybrid work options. A Secret clearance is required or attainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline plus 8 years relevant experience; or a master’s degree and 6 years of experience; or a Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
• Familiarity with software engineering processes and EVMS.
• Can bus and Ethernet familiarity.
• Design/development experience such as object‑oriented, model‑based design, DevSecOps and CI/CD.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Eligibility to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Oversight: lead all software engineering phases from requirements to delivery and maintenance.
• Compliance & Quality: coordinate with QA and CM, partner with Safety to enforce architecture rigor.
• Execution & Delivery: ensure on-time delivery of high-quality contract deliverables.
• Process Leadership: tailor and apply software domain processes per BMS.
• Planning & Proposals: develop staffing forecasts and BoEs for proposals.
