Job summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems, based in Bridgeton, MO, seeks a Manager, Software Engineer to lead a team of engineers. The role includes designing, developing, and testing software for complex systems with in-person or hybrid work options.

The position requires a BS in Software Engineering or related field and 5+ years of software experience, plus strong leadership and embedded development skills. U.S. Citizenship and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Embedded development and algorithm design fundamentals.
• Experience with C, C++, C# and/or Java.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a software engineering team and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Manage budget, cost and schedule input for the software department.
• Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of software products.
• Mentor engineers and participate in recruiting when needed.
• Review customer specs and translate into feasible designs.
• Lead design-to-cost and design-for-cost initiatives.
• Prepare proposals and ensure tasks meet technical requirements.
