Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Software Engineer, Applications to shape Trusted Content standards and development across design, operations, and maintenance workflows. You will collaborate with product management, engineering teams, and customer co-innovation partners to scale capabilities.

Hybrid role based in Milwaukee/Mequon, WI, Austin, TX, or Mayfield Heights, OH, reporting to the Engineering Manager, Trusted Content & Standards.

Qualifications

• + Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.
• + Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas.
• + Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent.
• + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting complex data sets.
• + Experience in the application of industrial automation.
• + 10+ years of industry experience.
• + Experience developing software applications for industrial automation.
• + Experience with maintaining specifications and standards.
• + Experience with leveraging and implementing AI workflows.
• + Strong understanding of Rockwell Automation products like Logix, Optix, Application Code Manager, etc.
• + Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Define best practices as standards.
• Drive decisions through cross-functional teams.
• Develop methods to check and grade adherence to defined standards through automated reviews.
• Identify new areas where standards are needed to drive cohesiveness in development practices.
• Define Trusted Content Applications & Software leveraging Rockwell Automation tools to create optimized Application Architectures.
• Define and optimize Libraries that support creation of applications and software in Rockwell Automation's Automation Development Environments.
• Participate in evolution of Industry Standards that support Trusted Content (OPC-UA, ISA, etc.).
• Support Development and Prioritization of Firmware and Software functions supporting Trusted Content integration.
• Help define Digital Engineering Strategies (Digital Twins, Automated Code, and Automated Library creation).
• Manage intellectual property as it is being created and become part of Trusted Content patent development.
• Design integrated and complex automation systems using Trusted Content.
• Identify new industries and applications for Trusted Content and prioritize accordingly.
• Pilot, Develop, and Refine AI assisted library development workflow.
• Collaborate with TI Customer Co-Innovation teams on engagements related to Trusted Content.
• Support global events like Automation Fair, TechEd, or others as needed.
