Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, seeks a Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, and maintain software across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid setups. You will collaborate with product managers and architects to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, and contribute to secure, efficient deployments.

The role requires strong C#, .NET, and React experience, plus hands-on cloud and DevOps familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline required.
• Microsoft Azure Developer Associate or AWS Certified Developer highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using C#, .NET, and React in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Contribute to architectural design ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Build APIs, microservices, and front-end components for web applications and ensure integration between front-end and back-end services.
• Work with cloud services (Azure, AWS) to design and deploy solutions in hybrid and cloud-native environments.
• Implement DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments across environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and availability issues across environments.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.
