Job summary

Powerplay Retail seeks a Social Media & Content Assistant to gain hands-on experience across social media, content creation, and digital marketing. This part-time role supports brand partner content, creator programs, and affiliate initiatives to drive growth for top retail and eCommerce brands.

Ideal candidates are eager learners who can balance multiple projects, contribute to campaigns, and measure impact with guidance from mentors.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
• Coursework toward or degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related strongly preferred.
• Prior experience managing social media accounts.
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Amazon, Shopify, affiliate marketing, or creator outreach is a plus.
• Must be able to commute to the corporate office in Mendota Heights, MN.

Responsibilities

• Draft, schedule, and publish content across Powerplay's social media channels.
• Create basic social media content including captions, stories, short-form video, graphics, and other platform-specific assets.
• Track and report on social performance metrics including reach, engagement, and follower growth.
• Collaborate with designers and content team members on larger creative projects and campaigns.
• Research and identify potential affiliate and creator partners.
• Assist with affiliate performance tracking and reporting.
• Assist with outreach, onboarding, and communication with creators and affiliates.
• Assist with SEO and organic content initiatives including blogs, website content, and press releases.
• Support simple website updates and landing page creation.
• Assist with email marketing campaigns, audience segmentation, and list management.
• Conduct market, competitor, and industry research.
• Other duties as assigned.
