Job summary

Smart IMS Inc in Dover, DE seeks an IT SOC Analyst for a 9-month contract with hybrid work. You will monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity threats across enterprise environments, focusing on security operations, incident response, threat hunting, log analysis, and monitoring to help protect critical systems, networks, and data.

Responsibilities include investigating incidents, analyzing SIEM logs, tuning detection rules, and collaborating with IT and security teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in a cybersecurity / SOC role.
• Strong OS, networking, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, endpoints.
• Scripting or automation with Python/PowerShell.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and network traffic with enterprise tools.
• Investigate, triage, and respond to security incidents and alerts.
• Perform threat hunting and analyze security data to identify risks.
• Analyze logs from SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoints, and more.
• Support containment, remediation, and recovery efforts.
• Maintain security monitoring and detection technologies.
• Document incidents and response activities for audit trails.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to resolve issues.
• Develop and tune detection rules and monitoring processes.
• Stay current on threats and cybersecurity best practices.
