Job summary

Dematic is hiring a Simulation Engineer for hubs in Grand Rapids (MI), Atlanta (GA), Plano (TX) or Milwaukee (WI) with a hybrid schedule blending on-site collaboration and remote work. You will build and evaluate simulation models to improve automated and material-handling systems before they are implemented.

You’ll translate data into insights, support project and customer decisions, and help deliver practical, high-impact outcomes through cross‑functional collaboration and rigorous analysis.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of discrete-event simulation concepts and methods.
• 2–5+ years of experience in simulation model development or performance analysis.
• Degree in Engineering, CS, OR, IE or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop discrete-event simulation models to evaluate performance of material-handling and automated systems.
• Support pre-sales and delivery activities with varied fidelity simulation models and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, project management and partners to define requirements, scope and timelines.
• Collect, validate, and analyze data, detailing model assumptions and specifications.
• Configure and lead simulation scenarios, experiments, and statistical runs.
• Interpret simulation outputs and communicate results to internal teams and customers.
• Contribute to customer-facing presentations and technical reviews to support recommendations.
• Deliver tasks on schedule, meeting quality and budget expectations.
