Job summary

Dematic is hiring a Simulation Engineer for hubs in Grand Rapids, MI, Atlanta, GA, Plano, TX, or Milwaukee, WI, offering a hybrid schedule blending on-site collaboration and remote work. You will build and evaluate simulation models to inform the design of automated and material‑handling systems before implementation.

You will convert data into insights, support project and customer decisions, and help deliver solutions that improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of experience in simulation model development or performance analysis.
• Proficiency in Python or another structured programming language.
• Experience with material-handling systems or automated solutions is preferred.
• Knowledge of Plant Simulation or AutoMod is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop discrete-event simulation models to evaluate performance of material-handling and automated systems.
• Support pre-sales and delivery activities by crafting low- to high-fidelity simulation models and conducting performance analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, project management, and other partners to define requirements, scope, and timelines.
• Collect, validate, and analyze data while detailing model assumptions and functional specifications.
• Configure, complete, and lead simulation scenarios, experiments, and statistical runs.
• Interpret simulation outputs and clearly communicate results to internal teams and customers.
• Contribute to customer-facing presentations and technical reviews to support solution recommendations.
• Deliver assigned tasks on schedule, meeting quality and budget expectations.
• Explain technical concepts in an accessible way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Exercise good judgment with confidential or proprietary information.
• Support continuous improvement of simulation tools, standards, processes, and methodologies.
