Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or CS or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of systems administration experience.
• Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Experience with Active Directory and group policies.
• Scripting for automation (PowerShell, Bash).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a hybrid Upington office on designated days.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Implement security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access and threats.
• Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Support end-users with IT-related issues.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with the IT team on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
