Job summary

Wellington Management seeks a Sr Software Engineer to join the Investor Modeling team and drive the design and evolution of Python-based modeling services and dashboard applications across the full stack.

You will help integrate AI-assisted development practices into investor workflows, shape architecture, standardize libraries, and raise the technical bar for engineers while delivering impactful investment solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing and developing durable and impactful software solutions.
• Proficient in Python and data-oriented libraries such as pandas and NumPy, SQLAlchemy or similar ORM, and a plotting/visualization library (e.g., Bokeh).
• Experience with SDLC tooling (JIRA, Git, CI/CD) and cloud platforms (AWS); hands-on GenAI development experience is a strong plus.
• Experience providing technical leadership—architecture/design discussions, evaluating libraries/frameworks, mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support investment modeling applications across the full stack (services, web, infrastructure, back-end).
• Set technical direction for Python and dashboard stack; standardize libraries, frameworks, tooling.
• Lead design reviews and provide architectural guidance to engineers.
• Integrate AI-driven capabilities into investment applications to improve workflows and decision-making.
• Partner with business analysts, QA, and investment professionals across requirements, testing, and UAT lifecycle.
• Manage and communicate delivery timelines, provide status updates, escalate risks.
• Author and maintain technical design and support documentation.
• Support production systems through data quality checks, alerting, and on-call participation.
