Job summary

Globe Life is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for a hybrid role in McKinney, TX. You will design, build, and maintain cloud-based applications using AWS and serverless architectures, with a focus on REST APIs and database solutions (SQL Server, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).

You will write efficient C# .NET code and T-SQL, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and participate in agile processes to drive high-quality software delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a proven track record of delivering cloud-based solutions in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in C# .NET development, with preferred experience in ASP.NET Web Forms / MVC.
• Advanced SQL Server/T-SQL database development and optimization skills, with preferred experience in SSIS/SSRS and IICS Informatica.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services, including several of the following: Lambda, Aurora (PostgreSQL), DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM (Roles/Policies), Step Functions, EventBridge (Buses/Rules/Scheduler), API Gateway, SQS, and SNS.
• Proficiency with GitHub for version control and Agile/Scrum methodologies, with the ability to work independently across multiple priorities.
• Preferred experience with Python programming and JIRA.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
