Job summary

Wolverine World Wide, Inc. in Rockford seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead cross-functional programs aligned with our corporate goals. You’ll coordinate scope, schedules, budgets and vendor relationships across multiple business units.

Requirements include 8+ years of project management experience, an IT PM background, and a PMP certification is a plus. A bachelor’s degree is required; MBA is a plus. The role offers a flexible hybrid schedule with three days in office and two remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in a business discipline, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience; MBA is a plus.
• Eight or more years of project management experience, including multidisciplinary project leadership.
• IT project management experience is strongly preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Ability to lead others in formal and informal structures, including highly matrixed environments, and effectively manage upward.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and actively participates in all aspects of project leadership, including scope and requirements definition, solution evaluation, vendor selection, resource planning, development of milestone schedules and key decision points, and communication planning and execution.
• Leads entire projects and is accountable on a per-project basis to Project Sponsors, Business Owners, or other Senior Leadership Team members.
• Functions as a strategic consultant on projects, performs contingency planning, and advises project stakeholders on observed risks, issues, or concerns.
• Manages all aspects of progress tracking, including detailed project plans, scope management, risk and issue identification and resolution, project budget oversight, and status reporting.
• Leverages proven methods, processes, templates, and techniques to complete tasks.
• Provides mentorship to corporate stakeholders on project management methods and practices.
• Supports the continuous improvement of Solution Delivery practices by identifying and implementing opportunities to strengthen project management standards, governance, tools, templates, reporting, and ways of working, while promoting consistency and adoption across project teams.
• Maintains technical and business proficiency through formal education and work assignments.
