Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Natural Resources or related field.
• Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Forester Certification
• ISA Arborist Certification
• Advanced knowledge of Program Management
• Ability to influence leaders inside and outside of the department through data analysis, insights and recommendations
• Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
• Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact

Responsibilities

• Apply broad expertise and advanced knowledge to wide-ranging program-related issues.
• Perform desktop and/or field review of locations to verify Forest Practice Rules requirements to file a Utility Exemption (UE) permit.
• May act as a team lead and provide direction to less experienced employees.
• Work with Directors and Managers across functions to influence decisions.
• Communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences using a variety of media.
• Map or establish and implement resource protection measures.
• Coordinate and oversee field operations with Licensed Timber Operator (LTO) related to the removal of trees and execution of requirements within the UE permit.
• Act as a liaison with environmental agency offices throughout the UE process.
• Close out UE permits and continuously monitor sites to maintain compliance.
• Develop new or revise existing scopes of work to ensure compliance standards and deliverables are clear.
