Job summary

Astronics is seeking a Senior or Staff Level Mechanical Engineer for our Cabin Electronics Product Support Team in Kirkland, WA. This hybrid/on-site role offers the flexibility to work from home up to two days per week and requires proximity to the Seattle/Kirkland area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution required.
• Senior Mechanical Engineer: typically 5 years of direct experience.
• Staff Mechanical Engineer: typically 8 years of direct experience.

Responsibilities

• Product Support - create/review design changes to keep products producible and up-to-date with requirements.
• Design Documentation & Configuration Management - submit drawing changes and manage product updates in the lifecycle system.
• Design - support evaluation of new/existing designs; create design documentation for enclosures and assemblies using 3D CAD and 3D printing.
• Testing & Investigation - support environmental testing and root-cause analysis for field failures and producibility issues.
• Continuous Improvement - identify opportunities and participate in process improvements.
• Team Contribution - collaborate with Electrical, Systems, Operations, Quality and PM teams; foster a positive team culture.
• Engineering Tools Proficiency - SolidWorks experience; familiarity with PLM; proficient in MS Office.
