Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required and bar licensing in applicable jurisdictions.
• Minimum 10 years of litigation experience, including insurance defense or personal injury.
• Management experience required, overseeing attorneys and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages subordinates in defense of lawsuits against GEICO insureds in liability and property damage cases.
• Interviews and/or approves job applicants for employment.
• Conducts and/or reviews associate performance appraisals; initiates salary adjustments and other personnel changes.
• Counsels associates and takes disciplinary action or terminates employment as appropriate.
• Represents GEICO insureds in liability, UM/UIM, subrogation, and PD suits where applicable.
• Researches laws and prepares briefs, opinions, and memoranda; renders opinions on liability and value.
