GEICO in Bethesda, MD is seeking an experienced litigator to join its in-house Enterprise Litigation and Investigations department. The role focuses on bad faith, complex litigation, and insurance coverage matters, partnering with Claims Operations and business teams.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of experience, strong communication, and proven litigation management. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office weekly in Maryland, with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits

Formación

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of litigation management experience.
• Experience managing high-stakes, complex litigation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; explain complex concepts.
• Ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
• Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Trial and appellate experience.

Responsabilidades

• Manage strategy for high-profile litigation matters including bad faith.
• Collaborate with and manage outside counsel.
• Advise internal stakeholders on litigation strategy and risk.
• Coordinate internal discovery with Operations, Tech, and legal teams.
• Manage legal risks and resolve disputes.
• Escalate complex matters to stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Conduct research to provide relevant advice.
• Monitor legislation and trends in insurance and litigation.
• Counsel GEICO leadership on pending litigation trends.
