Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer in Grapevine, TX, to join the Engineering & Test team. You will shape firmware architecture, drive real-time systems, and own complex initiatives with autonomy, collaborating across hardware, firmware, and application teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in embedded systems, strong C/C++ with RTOS, and hands-on debugging of hardware/software interfaces. Hybrid schedule and comprehensive benefits support a demanding, production-ready environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in embedded systems development.
• Advanced proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming.
• Strong experience in RTOS environments and real-time systems.
• Proven hardware/software integration and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and device drivers in C/C++ for production hardware.
• Architect firmware for real-time systems using RTOS, state machines, and event-driven design.
• Lead development of communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Bluetooth).
• Develop and optimize software for displays, sensors, and control systems with PID controllers.
• Collaborate with hardware and test engineers to establish PCB test requirements and validation procedures.
• Create automated bench and hardware-in-the-loop test environments for firmware validation.
• Document firmware architecture and decisions using UML, sequence diagrams, and flowcharts.
• Serve as a senior technical resource, mentor teammates, and drive code reviews.
