Job summary

Roux is seeking an experienced environmental compliance consultant to support projects across New England. The role blends fieldwork—inspections, sampling, and audits—with office duties to ensure regulatory alignment and robust reporting.

You will mentor junior staff and help expand the firm’s environmental compliance capabilities. Responsibilities include developing SWPPPs, auditing SPCC plans, coordinating with regulators and clients, and performing regulatory research for permit applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related field.
• 6+ years in environmental consulting with demonstrated interest and progression in environmental compliance or permitting.
• Strong working knowledge of state regulations (New England) and federal programs.
• Experience coordinating with staff, vendors, clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER preferred.
• Experience with EPA’s CDX platform (NetDMR and NetMSGP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate and/or conduct routine stormwater compliance activities including inspections, sampling and reporting under EPA’s MSGP or other NPDES requirements.
• Develop, implement and update SWPPPs.
• Prepare, maintain and audit SPCC plans.
• Conduct site inspections to evaluate environmental programs and address deficiencies.
• Provide project management for compliance programs including invoicing and admin.
• Prepare regulatory reports and other submittals including DMRs.
• Conduct regulatory research and permitting for client requests.
• Support air permitting evaluations and related permit applications.
• Perform third-party reviews of permit applications for regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior staff and support growth of the firm.
