Job summary

Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (ASO) seeks a Senior Director of Development to lead contributed revenue growth for the Orchestra and Academy. The role reports to the Executive Director and supervises key development staff.

The successful candidate will reconnect with donors, cultivate major gifts, and build systems for sustained philanthropy. The position is full-time, hybrid, and requires strategic and hands-on fundraising leadership, with responsibilities spanning major gifts, campaigns, and

Qualifications

• 5-7 year minimum nonprofit fundraising experience with leadership for contributed revenue.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and securing major gifts.
• Ability to translate organizational priorities into philanthropic opportunities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with donors, executives, Boards.
• Experience supervising staff and establishing accountability.
• Experience with CRM systems and donor research for strategy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual development plan with revenue goals and benchmarks.
• Lead all contributed revenue efforts including major gifts, campaigns, and sponsorships.
• Oversee foundation and government fundraising, including proposals and reporting.
• Manage a major-gift portfolio and cultivate donors for multi-year commitments.
• Strengthen donor retention and re-engagement through campaigns and stewardship.
• Collaborate with leadership to create cases for support and campaign priorities.
• Lead Academy fundraising strategy and coordinate with academy leadership.
