Job summary

Greenville Symphony Orchestra seeks a dynamic Director of Development to design, execute, and own the fundraising strategy. You will lead a team and coordinate with the Executive Director and Music Director to meet revenue targets, while identifying major gifts and new sponsorship opportunities that advance the Symphony’s mission and community impact.

The role reports to the Executive Director, with a focus on developing donor pipelines, stewardship, and strategic campaigns.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive development experience.
• Demonstrated ability to solicit and close major gifts.
• Experience coordinating fundraising across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience managing development budgets and reporting against targets.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and meet the annual development revenue targets across gifts, sponsorships, grants, and planned giving.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy with clear benchmarks.
• Build and manage a major-gift pipeline and solicit gifts at $3,500+.
• Coordinate a unified major-gifts strategy across portfolios.
• Identify new corporate sponsorship and foundation grant opportunities.
• Create donor engagement and stewardship strategies to deepen relationships.
