Job summary

Target Data Sciences in Sunnyvale seeks a Senior Data Scientist for Supply Chain optimization (Middle Mile). You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop and deploy state-of-the-art models that optimize inventory, transport, and distribution decisions at scale.

You will work across teams to learn the retail business, communicate insights, and improve tooling while operating in a hybrid environment that blends onsite and virtual work.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related quantitative field
• 3+ years leading large-scale optimization, simulation, ML/DL at scale
• Experience deploying production algorithms and models
• Proficient in Python, R or Java
• Strong ability to communicate data-driven insights clearly

Responsibilities

• Review and iterate on optimization and ML algorithms; develop state of the art mathematical models
• Collaborate with engineers to deploy algorithms in production at scale
• Work with business partners to understand retail processes and needs
• Balance model granularity with performance and maintainability of codebase
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
