Nasdaq is seeking a Senior Software Developer (Data Engineering) to build data solutions powering regulatory reporting across U.S. equity and options markets. You will own backend services and ETL workflows, shaping scalable data processing in a fast-paced environment.

Based in Philadelphia with a hybrid work schedule, you’ll collaborate across teams, leverage AWS and big data technologies, and translate complex requirements into reliable software that handles large trading datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of software development with Scala or Java.
• Experience with backend services, data-intensive apps, or ETL/data processing.
• Experience with SQL and Linux/Unix environments, including scripting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java/Scala backend applications for regulatory reporting workflows.
• Translate requirements into reliable, scalable software solutions.
• Build and support data processing/ETL workflows processing large trading datasets.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes across distributed platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using cloud and big data technologies.
