Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager, Senior Counsel to support the Premium Products & Experiences team. You’ll analyze legal risks, advise on marketing strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional partners across Card, Brand, Compliance, and Communications to balance risk and business goals.

You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that values clear communication, thoughtful risk assessment, and practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
• At least 5 years of attorney experience in a law firm, government, military judge advocate, or in-house counsel.
• 6+ years in similar roles, ideally involving consumer regulatory, consumer financial services, or fintech industries.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing needs.
• Ability to build collegial relationships with attorneys, business managers, creative teams and compliance professionals.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and assessing legal risks associated with Capital One's premium credit card business.
• Knowing your business in depth to interpret laws, regulations and legal requirements for the business teams and the legal function.
• Actively engaging with colleagues to provide legal support as part of a cross-functional team;
• Working with PPX, Card, Brand, the Business Risk Office, Corporate Communications, and Compliance stakeholders to address risks, develop creative solutions, and resolve issues.
