Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Sr. Manager, Contract Management to oversee the full contract lifecycle for a broad set of agreements. You will partner with Legal, OBIE, and Strategic Sourcing to drive efficient contracting and maintain audit-ready records.

The role requires strong contract administration experience, sound business judgment, and the ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment while guiding stakeholders through complex terms and risk considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Law required or equivalent experience.
• Typically 6–7 years contracting experience in a corporate environment.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end contract lifecycle for diverse buy-side agreements.
• Coordinate intake, drafting, review, negotiation, execution, and renewal.
• Advise business stakeholders on contracting approach and risks.
• Collaborate with Legal, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, and IT teams.
• Review terms for commercial, operational, and compliance implications.
• Support negotiations by consolidating feedback and timelines.
• Ensure adherence to policies, workflows, and signature authority.
• Maintain audit-ready contract records in CLM systems.
• Develop and update SOPs and guidance for contracting activities.
• Analyze contract data to identify bottlenecks and improvements.
• Drive process improvements to shorten cycle times and enhance experience.
• Manage a small team of contractors and mentor teammates.
