Job summary

Rincon Consultants seeks a Senior Climate Project Manager to support the Sustainability, Climate, and Resilience (SCR+) Practice in California. You will lead climate action planning, regional partnerships, and multi-year projects with a focus on decarbonization, electrification, and resilience for cities, counties, and agencies.

The role requires strong communication, data management, and policy understanding, with opportunities to collaborate across public and private clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Policy, Climate Change, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in climate action and resilience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex, multi-year projects (scope, budget, schedule, quality).
• Data management and analysis experience preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or equivalent.
• Strong facilitation, communication, budgeting and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the client’s day-to-day contact, with regular check-ins, progress reports, and clear scope/budget discussions.
• Scope, assign, and oversee work across Rincon staff and subconsultants, set expectations, review deliverables, and manage budgets/schedules.
• Manage multi-year workplans, budgets, invoicing, and contract compliance.
• Guide technical work in GHG inventories, adaptation, and resilience with leads in related areas.
• Draft technical memoranda, reports, and presentations; assist with action plans and decarbonization efforts.
• Engage diverse communities and stakeholders to design and implement regional climate programs.
