City of Durham Environmental and Street Services seeks a professional civil engineer to handle planning, design, and inspection of municipal projects, including water, sewer, and road systems. The role includes staff direction, meetings with clients, and developing entry-to-mid level management skills.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with remote work up to three days weekly and a competitive salary range. Ideal candidates hold a NC EIT or equivalent and have a valid NC driver’s license.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required or equivalent experience.
• Five years of related engineering and/or project management experience.
• North Carolina Engineer in Training (EIT) Registration or equivalent from another state.
• Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare professional civil engineering work for planning, surveying, design, review, contracting, inspection, field supervision, and maintenance.
• Oversee data analysis: obtain, review, and analyze data for trends and write reports.
• Attend meetings with internal and external customers to provide assistance as needed.
• Provide technical and administrative support; respond to questions and conduct correspondence.
• Complete special projects by preparing presentations, participating in seminars, and updating standards and procedures.

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or directly related field

Five years of related engineering and/or project management experience

North Carolina Engineer in Training (EIT) Registration or equivalent

Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License
