Job summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line seeks a talented Senior Civil Design and Program Manager to lead our Civil Design Practice with a home base in Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY or Syracuse, NY. The role supports Northeast US projects and is hybrid.

The ideal candidate brings extensive municipal water, wastewater, and/or stormwater design and management experience and can lead engineers to successful project delivery, mentoring junior staff along the way.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental engineering and 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in NY, or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Experience delivering engineering reports, design drawings, technical specs, and other deliverables.
• Proven experience on stormwater, water, wastewater, or flood protection/resilience projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex civil design projects from planning through permitting and construction phases.
• Lead multi-disciplinary design teams locally and remotely.
• Interface with clients and regulatory agencies; present to clients.
• Design of civil and stormwater systems and conveyance.
• Develop and review design/construction plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
• Support proposals, fee estimates, and schedules.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance.
