Job summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Senior Water Conveyance Engineer to lead design, analysis, and rehabilitation work on municipal pipelines across the United States.

The role reports to a U.S. office location (Boston, Atlanta, Buffalo, Conshohocken, Germantown, Rocky Hill, San Diego, or Tampa) and involves collaboration with experts, field inspections, and mentoring of junior staff, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering and 8 years of related experience or equivalency.
• Licensed PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 8 years of project experience in design of municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater pipeline design, analysis, installation and inspection.
• Experience with Mathcad and MATLAB.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and driving record acceptable under company policy.
• Experience with pipeline design codes, standards and regulations.
• Strong ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with pipeline design experts to develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Conduct field inspections and condition assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations.
• Work on projects related to pipeline failure analysis and pipeline forensics analysis.
• Work on projects from planning through design and construction services, for new and rehabilitation pipe designs.
• Experience with pressure pipe design.
• Experience with pipe stress analysis.
• Provide technical guidance to AECOM project teams and mentoring junior level staff.
• Technical writing, reviewing, and providing input to investigations, memorandums, or engineering reports and documentations.
• Stay current on industry trends and advancements in pipeline design and engineering.
• Participation in AWWA and/or other relevant organizations.
