Job summary

Peak Performers partners with a Texas State Agency to recruit a hybrid Business Systems Analyst for Austin, TX. You will support the Information, Innovation & Insight Department and stakeholders with technical assistance and detailed system requirements.

Responsibilities span requirements gathering, process modeling, user stories, tests, and system architecture diagrams within a hybrid work setup; office visits may occur on short notice. This contract runs through 8/31/27 and pays $85/hour.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience planning, leading, gathering, and analyzing business and functional requirements with business and technical groups.
• 8 years of experience developing business process maps and performing fit-gap analyses.
• 8 years of experience solving complex problems and troubleshooting software systems.
• 8 years of experience collecting requirements across multiple program areas with varying business needs.
• 8 years of experience gathering, documenting, and capturing design requirements.
• 8 years of experience developing Business Requirement Documents and Software Requirement Specifications.
• 8 years of experience facilitating workshops, meetings, and collaborative work sessions with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
• 8 years of experience preparing and executing test plans, leading test activities, and documenting or communicating testing results.
• 8 years of experience implementing and testing interfaces that exchange data with large, complex legacy systems
• 8 years of experience assisting with development of plans and work artifacts in support of the project management life cycle.
• 8 years of experience with SDLC management software such as HP ALM or Atlassian.
• 8 years of experience with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and Participant Individual Record Layout (PIRL).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to the Information, Innovation & Insight Department and business stakeholders through complex to advanced business analyst work.
• Perform complex systems analysis and complete software analysis, design, and test activities for all phases of the solution implementation project.
• Document detailed system requirements, including functional, technical, EIR accessibility, and security requirements.
• Write and groom user stories in collaboration with business owners and technical teams.
• Perform system analysis, including business process maps, conceptual models, objects and use case models, and system architecture diagrams.
• Review, analyze, evaluate, execute, and develop test cases and scenarios based on business and system requirements to ensure traceability.
