Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Archaeologist/Project Manager to join the California Cultural Resources team in a full-time, hybrid role with openings in Sacramento and Oakland.

The Senior Archaeologist leads project execution, manages field survey and data recovery, mentors staff, and handles client interfacing, with growth opportunities in business development within Northern California.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or a closely related field.
• 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in historical and/or precontact archaeology and cultural resources management.
• Must be willing to travel and conduct fieldwork throughout California.
• A valid driver's license is required, and able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Managing projects or tasks with field efforts (survey, testing, data recovery, monitoring) and intensive schedules.
• Supervising personnel in field, office, and laboratory.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and prospective clients for Northern California.
• Serving as Principal Investigator and leading proposals and cost estimates.
• Occasional travel to support multiple projects.
