UC Davis Health seeks an AI Solutions Architect to lead complex AI/ML initiatives across clinical, operational, and research domains. You’ll translate healthcare challenges into scalable, production-grade AI/ML solutions, guiding strategy, governance, and implementation of MLOps and responsible AI practices.

The role combines hands-on development with cross-disciplinary leadership, mentoring, and engagement with institutional leaders to advance AI capabilities in health analytics.

Qualifications

• Epic Caboodle & Cogito certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Master’s degree or higher in a data-analytic or quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Biomedical/Health Informatics, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field).
• 8+ years of progressive, applied advanced data analytics solutions, with substantial hands-on expertise in production software engineering, machine learning, scalable data engineering, and enterprise system design.
• Proven track record architecting, engineering, and deploying production-grade Large Language Model (LLM) applications.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated LLM evaluation harnesses, testbeds, and benchmarking frameworks.
• Deep technical expertise spanning traditional statistical ML and modern deep learning architectures; experience with multimodal data.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, with mastery of PyTorch/TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Scikit-learn, MLflow, and vector databases.
• Demonstrated command of modern SDLC practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, GitLab, and automated testing/monitoring for deployed models.
• Practical expertise transforming and modeling complex structured/unstructured data across distributed data platforms.
• Understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and health data standards for safe AI/ML solutions.
