Persistent Systems is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI/LLM-powered applications using Python. You will work across engineering, data, and product teams to build scalable backend services and RESTful APIs, leveraging LLMs, RAG, and modern MLOps practices.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience overall, with 5+ years in software development, strong Python skills, and a track record delivering AI/ML systems to production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall experience in AI/ML or software engineering.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on Python development experience for production-grade systems.
• Experience delivering AI/ML or LLM-powered systems to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable AI/ML and LLM-powered applications using Python.
• Build LLM-based solutions with prompt engineering, RAG, and provider APIs.
• Develop and integrate scalable backend services and RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Flask).
• Lead the AI Development Life Cycle from data handling to deployment and monitoring.
• Apply MLOps/LLMOps practices for model management and observability.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to deliver reliable AI solutions.
