Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a commissioning specialist to support the network and communications pre-commissioning and commissioning for utility-scale solar projects. This role ensures devices communicate properly during hot commissioning and requires coordination with project teams at job sites.

The position is hybrid with on-site presence at job sites and partial remote work. You will conduct tests, document results, and ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC, IEEE standards, and safety requirements

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commissioning experience on utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, electrical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of networking and communications systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and proactive issue resolution.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-project management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and implement site-specific commissioning plans and adhere to schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams including engineering, construction and QA/SCADA.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, including performance and reliability testing of communications systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal SCADA and site communications performance.
• Prepare detailed commissioning reports documenting test results, issues and corrective actions.
• Contribute to process improvements using feedback from completed projects.
• Assist site commissioning personnel with Safety Tagging, Lockout & Work Permit Program compliance.
